Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 5-8 years of recent tax experience in a CPA firm
- CPA license preferred. Should be working towards 5th year or master’s degree and licensure
- Experience preparing tax returns including individuals, trusts, partnerships, and S corporations
- Highly motivated to learn and produce quality work
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with little direction
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with coworkers and clients
- Works effectively with team members
- Able to build strong client relationships by responding quickly and providing knowledgeable, concise communication to the client
- Experience providing mentorship to entry-level staff
- Tax return review experience a plus
Responsibilities:
- Works with the tax team to prepare complex business and individual tax returns
- Performs the initial review of individual and business returns prepared by entry-level staff
- Provides timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations
- Handles routine client tax questions, and works with clients to obtain the information to prepare complete and accurate returns
- Alerts senior manager and partner of any tax compliance issues in a timely manner
- Completes research and special projects as needed
- Stays informed of tax law changes and news
