As a Tax Associate you will apply tax rules and accounting principles with supervision and bring to the Senior Tax Professional’s and Manager’s attention all issues, questions, and concerns noted while performing your work.
Essential duties and responsibilities are:
- Proficient in QuickBooks online and desktop versions and other accounting software. CCH Access.
- Prepare federal and state payroll tax returns.
- Review tax information provided by client. This may include meeting with and contacting clients with questions.
- Preparation and detail review of Federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Prepare or assist in the preparation of complex tax returns and tax research.
- Recognize, anticipate and resolve tax issues. Make recommendations and actively communicate with supervisors and the client.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and taking part in professional societies.
- Participate in internal committees and meetings with an aim towards firm improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or extensive public accounting experience with the use of QuickBooks or other accounting general ledger software packages.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting and tax experience or recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree seeking an entry level Tax Professional position.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred or planning to obtain within two years.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
